Pool Garden
The Pool Garden is approached through an area of whispering grasses, blue grey eucalyptus, alliums and foliage plants laid out in swathes of gravel. Established in 1995, this becomes a secret garden 'room' when tall fennels hide the path. Even in the water you will find herbs such as water mint, bog bean and yellow flag. In summer pots of tender orange and olive trees are placed around the pond which is used as a breeding ground for frogs, toads, dragonflies, water beetles and a bathing place for many bird species. Before moving on take time to explore the many nooks and crannies the garden has to offer.
Returning to the entrance we visit the Greenhouse
and discover the Herb Bed, Roman Garden, Thyme Bank, Pool Garden, and Greenhouse. Knot Garden, and see the various themed borders such as Long Border, West Wall Border, and the Herbaceous Borders.
